Manchester United equal their joint-longest home winning run in the FA Cup after beating West Ham United 1-0 in extra time on Tuesday night.

Manchester United won their ninth successive match at Old Trafford in the FA Cup, equalling their joint-longest home winning run in the competition, as they beat West Ham United 1-0 after extra time on Tuesday night.

With the match goalless after 90 minutes, the Red Devils were forced to play another half an hour, however the deadlock was broken seven minutes after the restart when Scott McTominay stabbed the ball past Lukasz Fabianski.

United have now equalled a winning streak between 1908 and 1912 and head into the sixth-round draw, which will take place this Thursday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have played all three FA Cup games at home in this season's competition, beating Watford 1-0 in the third round, before sealing a 3-2 triumph in the fourth round over rivals Liverpool last month.

United are now to prepare for Sunday's Premier League encounter against West Bromwich Albion before a trip to Turin, where they will face Real Sociedad in the last 32 of the Europa League next Thursday.
