Manchester City defender Eric Garcia is reportedly still set to sign for Barcelona, despite being offered reduced terms by his former side.

Barcelona are reportedly confident of signing Eric Garcia after entering the final stages of negotiations with the Manchester City defender.

The Catalan giants have made no secret of their desire to land the young centre-back, who spent close to a decade in Barca's youth system before joining City in 2017.

Garcia is out of contract at the end of the season and has turned down the offer of a new deal, leaving him free to discuss terms with foreign clubs.

It was recently suggested that the Spain international has been offered reduced terms by Barca compared to what was on the table last year, putting a deal in doubt.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that both parties expect an agreement to be reached in the coming weeks.

Should that be the case, Barca will supposedly hold off from officially announcing the transfer while both sides remain in the hunt for trophies.

Speaking at the weekend, Pep Guardiola admitted that he would like to see Garcia head back to Camp Nou if he is not interested in prolonging his stay with City. body check tags ::
