Manchester City could be without as many as five players for Saturday's Premier League clash at home against Crystal Palace.

Aymeric Laporte remains sidelined after undergoing knee surgery earlier this summer, while Nathan Ake and Jack Grealish are both doubtful with respective groin and ligament injuries – the former was withdrawn in the first half of last weekend's draw with Newcastle United, while the latter missed out entirely.

Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips and Luke Mbete were both withdrawn with injuries in Wednesday's friendly draw against Barcelona. Phillips came off with discomfort in his right shoulder, while Mbete was involved in a nasty collision towards the end of the match and required lengthy treatment before being stretchered off wearing a neck brace.

Pep Guardiola used many of his star names at Camp Nou, although not all of them were handed starts, and the Catalan boss is expected to revert back to a similar first XI to the one which was named against Newcastle.

Ruben Dias, who replaced Ake in the first half at St James Park last weekend, is expected to start in the back four alongside Kyle Walker, John Stones and Joao Cancelo.

Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva were both on the scoresheet against Newcastle and could retain their places in the starting lineup, with the former to play in centre-midfield alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri, while the latter operates on the right flank.

Erling Braut Haaland, who failed to score on his home debut against Bournemouth, is set to lead the line and will be hoping for more joy in front of goal, while Phil Foden could continue on the left side of a front three.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Bernardo, Haaland, Foden body check tags ::
