Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

Manchester City will be looking to progress to the fourth round of the EFL Cup when they welcome Wycombe Wanderers to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Citizens will enter the League Cup fixture off the back of a goalless draw with Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side have won this competition in each of the last four seasons, beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the 2021 final earlier this year to land the trophy for the eighth time.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of the encounter with Wycombe, who operate in the third tier of English football.

John Stones

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: September 21 (vs. Wycombe)

John Stones did not feature against Leipzig or Southampton due to a muscular problem but could potentially be available for the clash with Wycombe.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: September 21 (vs. Wycombe)

Like Stones, Aymeric Laporte missed the recent clashes with Leipzig and Southampton, but the Spain international could recover from his groin issue to play against Wycombe.

Zack Steffen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Man City will be unable to call upon their second-choice goalkeeper on Tuesday, as Zack Steffen is still self-isolating, having tested positive for coronavirus earlier this month.

Rodri

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: September 21 (vs. Wycombe)

Man City announced, via a statement on their official website, that Rodri was injured for the clash with Southampton, but Guardiola is yet to provide an update on the Spaniard.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: September 21 (vs. Wycombe)

Oleksandr Zinchenko was also ruled out of the clash with Southampton through injury, but the extent of the problem is unclear, and he could potentially be available on Tuesday.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Benjamin Mendy

Status: Out
Possible return date: Unknown

Subject to a police charge, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended by Man City pending an investigation, meaning that the defender will be unavailable for the foreseeable future.
