Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Union SG

:Headline: Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Union SG:
Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Union SG in Group E.
Sports Mole

Liverpool will close out a successful Europa League Group E campaign when they head to Belgium to face Union SG on Thursday evening.

Jurgen Klopp's side have already confirmed qualification for the last 16 as group winners, moving onto 12 points from a possible 15 thanks to a 4-0 thrashing of LASK Linz last time out.

The Reds are not just leading the way continentally either, as a 2-1 Premier League beating of Crystal Palace at the weekend saw them leapfrog Arsenal into first place in the English top flight.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Union SG, who sit third in the section but could still sneak into second spot on the final day.

Alexis Mac Allister

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 14 (vs. Union SG)

Alexis Mac Allister may be denied a reunion with his Union-clad brother Kevin Mac Allister on Thursday, as the Argentine suffered a knee injury against Sheffield United last week, but he has not been ruled out of this contest just yet.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Cameroonian defender Joel Matip is struggling with a knee injury of his own, although his ACL rupture is far more severe, and the ex-Schalke 04 man has likely played his final game this season.

Diogo Jota

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Burnley)

Diogo Jota has started running on the Kirkby training pitches as he recuperates from a muscular injury, but the Portugal international is not expected back in competitive action for a couple of weeks at least.

Andrew Robertson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Newcastle United)

Andrew Robertson is on the long road to recovery from a dislocated shoulder, which he sustained while playing for Scotland in October, and he is targeting a return in the New Year.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Newcastle United)

Likewise, Thiago Alcantara is also eyeing his long-awaited comeback from a troublesome hip injury in January, having seen his return delayed by a couple of setbacks since originally entering the infirmary in April.

Stefan Bajcetic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Thiago's fellow Spaniard Stefan Bajcetic picked up a calf injury straight after making a full recovery from an adductor concern, and Liverpool are taking no risks with the teenager's growing body, meaning that no comeback date has been pencilled in just yet.
