Tuesday's EFL Cup predictions including Bournemouth vs. Everton

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's EFL Cup fixtures, including Bournemouth vs. Everton.

Leicester vs. Newport (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Leicester City will hope to avoid being on the wrong end of an EFL Cup giant killing when they host Newport County at the King Power Stadium in Tuesday's third-round clash.

The Foxes had to rely on their penalty-kick prowess to beat Stockport County in round two, while their fourth-tier hosts have beaten Luton Town and Portsmouth to make it this far.

We say: Leicester City 4-0 Newport County

As impressive as Newport have been on home soil recently, winning away from home has not been so simple for the League Two side, who should not expect miracles at the King Power.

Leicester will certainly not field a full-strength XI, but with form on their side and an impeccable defensive record to boast about, we expect the Foxes to cruise through to round four.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth vs. Everton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

An all-Premier League EFL Cup third-round tie takes place at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday evening as Bournemouth play host to Everton.

Both sides are aiming to bounce back from top-flight defeats at the weekend, as the Cherries lost a seven-goal thriller to Leeds United, while the Toffees went down 2-0 to Leicester City.

We say: Bournemouth 1-1 Everton (Everton to win on penalties)

Neither Bournemouth nor Everton have truly covered themselves in glory in recent weeks, and a plethora of changes can be expected as both sides prioritise their league fortunes.

Calvert-Lewin's injury will not help the Toffees on the attacking front either, and it would not be a surprise to see this third-round tie go all the way to penalties, where the visitors' recent successes from 12 yards should help them to a fourth-round appearance.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Burnley vs. Crawley (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Burnley host Crawley Town in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

Both teams fell to heavy defeats at the weekend and are experiencing significantly different Football League campaigns so far.

We say: Burnley 3-0 Crawley Town

Burnley will look to regain some confidence ahead of the Lancashire Derby with Blackburn with a convincing win here, and should get past a lowly Crawley quite comfortably.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bristol City vs. Lincoln (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Lincoln City will hope to avoid suffering a second successive cup exit in the space of a few days when they travel to face Bristol City in Tuesday's EFL Cup third-round tie.

The hosts played out a 1-1 Championship draw with Middlesbrough at the weekend, while Lincoln were on the wrong end of an FA Cup shock against Chippenham Town.

We say: Bristol City 2-0 Lincoln City

Confidence levels in the Lincoln camp would have hit a new low with the weekend's FA Cup embarrassment, and meeting a higher-tier side will not help the discontent from the visiting end either.

Bristol City have not covered themselves in glory in recent weeks either, but Pearson's side should have enough quality to make it through to the next phase of the EFL Cup.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Stevenage vs. Charlton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Charlton Athletic will be bidding to book their spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup when they travel to Stevenage on Tuesday night.

The visitors have beaten Queens Park Rangers and Walsall to secure their spot at this stage of the competition, while Stevenage overcame Reading and Peterborough United in the first and second round respectively.

We say: Stevenage 2-1 Charlton Athletic

Charlton will enter this match as the favourites, but Stevenage's form is difficult to ignore. It would certainly not be a surprise to see an away success, but we believe that a strong Stevenage outfit will be able to navigate their way into the next round of the competition.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

MK Dons vs. Morecambe (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Fresh from a 6-0 thumping of Taunton Town in the FA Cup, MK Dons will now aim to seal progress to the fourth round of the EFL Cup when Morecambe visit Stadium MK on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, the visitors' run in the FA Cup came to an end at the weekend as they went down 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday.

We say: MK Dons 2-0 Morecambe

Buoyed by their thumping FA Cup success and enjoying the golden touch in defence in recent weeks, the stage is set for MK Dons to reach the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

The Dons have already taught Morecambe one footballing lesson this term, and the Shrimps' poor away form should rear its ugly head in a miserable day for the travelling fans.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Brentford vs. Gillingham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Brentford will be bidding to book their spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup when they welcome League Two outfit Gillingham to the Brentford Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Bees will enter the contest off the back of a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, while Gillingham drew 1-1 with Fylde in the first round of the FA Cup.

We say: Brentford 2-0 Gillingham

Gillingham are not in the best of form, and they are unlikely to get much change out of Brentford on Tuesday night. The Bees are not expected to be at full strength but should have too much quality for their League Two opponents in this contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
