Sports Mole previews Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash between Dundee and Livingston, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Basement club Dundee will welcome Livingston to Dens Park for their Scottish Premiership encounter on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts have not won on home soil since New Year's Day, while the visitors are looking to extend their unbeaten away run to three games.

Match preview

Mark McGee's first home game in charge of Dundee was put on hold after Wednesday's Premiership fixture against St Mirren was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The 64-year-old did not get off to a winning start in his first match last weekend, though there were plenty of positives to take from their 3-2 loss at Celtic. The Dark Blues were holding on for a point before Giorgos Giakoumakis completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute to snatch victory for the Glaswegian hosts.

St Johnstone's victory over Hearts last weekend has seen Dundee slip to the foot of the Premiership, six points adrift of safety but with a game in hand.

Dundee have failed to win any of their last three home matches and they are also winless in their previous three meetings with Livingston at Dens Park, failing to score on each occasion.

Saturday's fixture against the Lions seems to be Dundee's most favourable over the next six weeks, as five of their next six league games will be against teams currently in the top half of the table.

Livingston followed up their Scottish Cup fifth-round defeat on penalties against Hearts with a 1-1 draw in the Premiership at home to St Mirren last weekend.

Bruce Anderson's 55th-minute opener, his ninth league goal of the season, was cancelled out by Greg Kiltie 23 minutes later, and despite the visitors being reduced to 10 men in the closing stages, they were able to hold on for a share of the spoils.

David Martindale's men have accumulated eight points from their last 15 available and have moved eight points clear of the bottom two.

Livingston have already faced Dundee twice in the league this season, playing out a goalless draw at Dens Park in September last year, before winning 2-0 on their own turf last month thanks to a brace from Anderson.

Team News

Dundee are set to be without Lee Ashcroft, Jordan Marshall and Cillian Sheridan due to injury, while club captain Charlie Adam is doubtful with a knock.

McGhee may be tempted to tweak the starting lineup which played against Celtic, which could see Vontae Daley-Campbell and Cammy Kerr operating further up the pitch as wing-backs in a 3-5-2 formation.

Dundee's top scorer Danny Mullen, who has scored twice in his last three games, is set to start in attack alongside Paul McMullan.

After receiving his work permit, goalkeeper Ivan Konovalov is set to make his debut for Livingston, with the Russian replacing Max Stryjek between the sticks.

Bruce Anderson will continue to lead the line up front and could be supported in attack by wingers Alan Forrest and Joel Nouble.

Dundee possible starting lineup:
Lawlor; Rossi, McGhee, Sweeney; Daley-Campbell, Anderson, Byrne, Mulligan, Kerr; Mullen, McMullan

Livingston possible starting lineup:
Konovalov; Devlin, Obileye, Fitzwater, Penrice; Holt, Omeonga, Pittman; Forrest, Anderson, Nouble

We say: Dundee 1-1 Livingston

Both Dundee and Livingston have endured inconsistent runs of form recently and will be keen to put a string of wins together to climb the table.

However, with little to separate these two teams, a score draw could be on the cards at Dens Park.
