Fresh off the back of ending their run of four consecutive defeats, Real Salt Lake take a trip to the Toyota Stadium to square off against Dallas on Saturday.

The Hoops, meanwhile, head into the weekend winless in each of their last five home games against Pablo Mastroeni's men and will be desperate to end this poor run.

Match preview

Dallas turned in a solid team performance as they picked up a 1-0 victory over Inter Miami when the sides squared off at the DRV PNK Stadium last weekend.

Despite seeing just 31% of the ball possession and being on the back foot for most of the game, Jesus Ferreira's 27th-minute strike was enough to hand the hosts their fifth defeat on the spin.

With that result, Dallas have made it three consecutive games without defeat against Phil Neville's men, claiming two wins and one draw since their first meeting in October 2020.

The Hoops now return home, where they are unbeaten in each of their last three matches, claiming successive wins over LA Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City in March before playing out a 1-1 draw against Portland Timbers on April 2.

This impressive start to the season has seen Nico Estevez's side rise to fourth place in the Western Conference table, level on 11 points with Minnesota United and San Jose Earthquakes.

Real Salt Lake, on the other hand, picked up their first home win of the season in style as they fought back from behind to claim a resounding 3-1 victory over Charlotte FC last Sunday.

After trailing at half time, Mastroeni's side upped the ante at the Rio Tinto Stadium as Pablo Ruiz, Anderson Julio and Jefferson Savarino scored second-half goals to complete a remarkable comeback.

Real Salt Lake were previously on a run of four consecutive defeats, conceding 12 goals and scoring just once since kicking off the new campaign with a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on February 26.

With six points from their opening six games, the Claret and Cobalt are currently 10th in the conference standings, level on points with 11th-placed Colorado Rapids, albeit with one game in hand.

While Real Salt Lake will be looking to build on last Sunday's victory, they have failed to win eight of their last nine visits to the Toyota Stadium since August 2014, losing four and claiming four draws.

Team News

Dallas will take to the pitch without the services of 17-year-old winger Tarik Scott, who is yet to make an appearance this year due to an ACL injury.

The teenage academy product, who signed a three-year contract with the Hoops last year, is currently in rehabilitation following his surgery back in February.

He is joined on the hosts' injury list by 20-year-old left-back Isaiah Parker, who continues his lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury last February.

Real Salt Lake have several injuries to contend with heading into the weekend, with the defensive duo of Marcelo Silva and Byron Oviedo recuperating from hamstring and calf injuries respectively.

Experienced defender Erik Holt picked up an injury following March's game against Austin and the 26-year-old is set to sit out his fourth consecutive game.

North Macedonian striker Danny Musovski has missed the visitors' last two outings through an ankle injury.

Dallas possible starting lineup:
Paes; Jesus, Burgess, Martinez, Farfan; Ferreira, Quignon, Pomykal; Arriola, Jimenez, Velasco

Real Salt Lake possible starting lineup:
MacMath; Brody, Glad, Farnsworth, Vera; Gomez, Loffelsend, Ruiz, Savarino; Julio, Rubin

We say: Dallas 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Having won their last outings, Dallas and Real Salt Lake head into the weekend looking to pick up successive wins for the first time this season. While Mastroeni's side have struggled for results on the road, the Hoops are unbeaten in three consecutive home games and we are backing them to come away with all three points, albeit by the odd goal.
