Departing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois undergoes Real Madrid medical

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois edges closer to completing his move to Real Madrid after undergoing a medical in the Spanish capital.

Thibaut Courtois has edged closer to completing his move to Real Madrid after undergoing a medical in the Spanish capital.

The Chelsea goalkeeper had been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer and failed to report for Blues training this week.

Chelsea eventually allowed Courtois to depart on Wednesday after securing the services of Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a £71.6m deal.

On Thursday morning, Los Blancos tweeted a post showing the 26-year-old flashing a thumbs-up while undergoing his medical at the La Moraleja University Hospital.

Courtois, who will be presented to the public in a press conference at the Bernabeu later on Thursday, is thought to have agreed a six-year deal with the European champions.
