Chelsea announce that academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah has signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have announced that Trevoh Chalobah has signed a new long-term contract.

After numerous loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, the academy graduate enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the first team last season.

Chalobah made a total of 31 appearances in all competitions, including 20 in the Premier League, but the defender started the season out of favour with Thomas Tuchel.

However, as a result of injuries to central defenders and Graham Potter replacing the German, the 23-year-old has since established himself as a key player.

Before the break for the World Cup, Chalobah started 11 matches in succession, either featuring in a back three or a back four.

As a result of his increased seniority, Chalobah has now been rewarded with a deal until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

Speaking to the club's official website, Chalobah said: "I'm over the moon to sign this contract. It's been an honour every time I put the shirt on. I want to give my all and do anything for this club.

"As everyone knows I've been here from a young age and to continue here is every kid's dream. Whenever I get the chance, I'll give my all for the club and look for the future ahead.

"I want to say thanks to God for this, without Him none of this would be possible. And just always believing. Thanks to my family as well and the club for trusting in me. I'll now continue to give my all."

Co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali added: "We're delighted that Trevoh will be extending his stay with Chelsea. He has been with us since childhood and has grown into an exceptional young player.

"He's an important part of our men's first team squad and we're excited to see what's next for Trevoh at Chelsea."

Since their takeover in June, Boehly and co have been productive in securing long-term contract renewals with Reece James and Armando Broja having committed themselves to 2028.

However, the West Londoners still have work to do if they wish to tie Mason Mount down to fresh terms, the playmaker now having just over 19 months remaining on his current deal.

The relevant parties are said to be ready to continue negotiations after Mount has represented England at the World Cup. body check tags ::
