Neymar 'still wants Barcelona return as Paris Saint-Germain consider cashing in'

Paris Saint-Germain comtemplate the sale of Neymar to Barcelona in order to avoid losing him for free in two years' time, according to a report.

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar could still make a sensational return to Barcelona this summer, according to a report.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Barcelona had conceded defeat in their pursuit of Neymar amid financial worries in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the former Camp Nou star has less than two years left to run on his existing deal with PSG, and the Ligue 1 champions are rumoured to be having second thoughts on the situation.

Indeed, Mundo Deportivo claim that Neymar still keeps in contact with some of his former Blaugrana teammates and would be keen on a move back to Catalonia.

Contract talks between the player and PSG have supposedly stalled, and the report claims that the French outfit may entertain offers this summer before they risk losing the world's most expensive player for nothing in 2022.

PSG would be extremely unlikely to garner anything close to the £198m they forked out for Neymar in 2017, but Barca would allegedly be open to offloading out-of-favour players such as Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic in a part-exchange deal.

Neymar amassed 105 goals from 186 appearances for Barcelona before departing for the French capital, where he has registered 69 goals in 80 games across all competitions.
