Barcelona reportedly touched base with outgoing Germany manager Joachim Low before deciding to stick with Ronald Koeman.

Despite leading La Blaugrana to Copa del Rey success last term, Koeman's future was shrouded in uncertainty following his failures to secure La Liga or Champions League glory at the helm.

The Dutchman remains under contract at Camp Nou for another 12 months, though, and president Joan Laporta has confirmed that he will keep his faith in Koeman for the time being.

However, German outlet Bild reports that Low was initially being considered for the post, with the 61-year-old set to leave the German national team after Euro 2020.

The report adds that Low had no interest in taking the job now as he prepares for a year away from the game, but he remains open to an 'attractive' job in management and would be interested in taking the reins at Barca one day.

Low's Germany kick off their Euro 2020 campaign against France on Tuesday, as Die Mannschaft attempt to make it out of the group of death with the world champions, Portugal and Hungary. body check tags ::
