How Barcelona could line up against Eibar

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Tuesday's La Liga clash with Eibar.

Barcelona will be looking to make it four wins from their last five La Liga matches when they welcome lowly Eibar to Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

Ronald Koeman's side have collected 10 points from their last four games in Spain's top flight and will enter the contest off the back of a strong 3-0 victory at Real Valladolid on December 22.

The Catalan giants are still off the pace in terms of the top of the table, though, currently sitting fifth, eight points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand on Barca.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the hosts could line up against Eibar.

Out: Jordi Alba (banned), Lionel Messi (ankle), Gerard Pique (knee), Ansu Fati (knee), Sergi Roberto (muscle)
Doubtful: Ousmane Dembele (hamstring)

Barca will again be without the services of Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique and Ansu Fati through injury, while Jordi Alba is suspended due to the booking that he picked up against Valladolid.

The Catalan giants have also announced that Lionel Messi will miss the contest due to an ankle issue, with the Argentine not expected to return to training until the start of January.

Ousmane Dembele is an option, having recovered from a hamstring issue, although it seems likely that Philippe Coutinho will get the nod in an attacking position alongside Pedri and Antoine Griezmann, meaning that Martin Braithwaite could operate at the tip of the attack.

Koeman selected a back three against Valladolid but could revert to a four for this match, with Junior Firpo in line to start at left-back, and the expected change of formation could see Miralem Pjanic drop out.

Sergio Busquets started on the bench last time out but should come back into the side; Oscar Mingueza, meanwhile, could drop out of the starting XI with Ronald Araujo likely to feature alongside Clement Lenglet in the middle of the defence.
