Report: Arsenal to scout Nicolo Barella again

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella up close for a third time, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly still undecided as to whether to make a move for £43m-rated Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Gunners have watched the Italy international up close a couple of times in recent weeks, with an eye on bringing him in as a replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey.

According to The Mirror, though, the Gunners have sent a scout to Italy to watch him once again in Tuesday evening's Serie A clash with Juventus.

Barella is also believed to be on the radar of Napoli, AC Milan and Chelsea, with the latter rumoured to have made an approach in the January transfer window.

Arsenal must therefore choose whether to follow up their interest in the 22-year-old with a bid or instead look elsewhere over the remaining weeks of the season.

Any deal for Barella could hinge on Champions League football being played at the Emirates Stadium next season.
