Real Madrid 'will not consider permanent Martin Odegaard sale'

:Headline: Real Madrid 'will not consider permanent Martin Odegaard sale':
Real Madrid are reportedly willing to let Arsenal-linked midfielder Martin Odegaard leave on loan this month, but any deal will not include an option to buy.

Real Madrid are reportedly not prepared to sanction a permanent exit for midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The highly-rated Norwegian has struggled to get a look-in under Zinedine Zidane this term and is understood to have asked for a loan move away from the club in January.

Arsenal have supposedly made an approach to sign Odegaard on a short-term deal, while a return to his former club Real Sociedad has also been mooted.

However, Marca reports that while a loan move in January is a possibility, Los Blancos will not consider selling him permanently.

The report claims that Real believe Odegaard can still come good at the Bernabeu despite his underwhelming start, although he has only made nine appearances across all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign.

The attacking midfielder was left out of Zidane's squad for Wednesday's Copa del Rey game at third-tier Alcoyano, who knocked Real Madrid out of the competition with a 2-1 win in extra time. body check tags ::
