Andy Murray given tough Wimbledon draw

Two-time champion Andy Murray is drawn to play Benoit Paire in the first round at Wimbledon.

Andy Murray has been given a tough draw at Wimbledon, should the Scot choose to continue his comeback at SW19.

The two-time winner has successfully come through three matches since hip surgery and publicly, the former world number one says that he is still to decide whether he will compete at the third Grand Slam of the year.

Should Murray do so, Benoit Paire - his fourth-round opponent last year - awaits him in the first round, with Denis Shapovalov and Juan Martin del Potro possible foes in the second and third rounds respectively.

British number one Kyle Edmund will face Australia's Alex Bolt - with Novak Djokovic a potential third-round opponent - while wildcard Liam Broady must go up against former finalist Milos Raonic.

Eastbourne quarter-finalist Cameron Norrie will play former British representative Aljaz Bedene, and youngster Jay Clarke has been given a test against Ernests Gulbis.

Defending champion Roger Federer will meet Dusan Lajovic while in the opposite side of the draw, Rafael Nadal has been given a tie against Dudi Sela.

The draw has also thrown up a first-round encounter between Grigor Dimitrov and three-time Major winner Stanislas Wawrinka.
