Felix Auger-Aliassime has beaten Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to win his maiden ATP Tour title at the Rotterdam Open.

The Canadian triumphed 6-4 6-2 to finally end his run of eight consecutive ATP Tour final defeats and pick up the biggest prize of his career so far.

Auger-Aliassime was dominant on his own serve throughout, sending down seven aces and boasting a far superior percentage of points won on both first and second serve as Tsitsipas failed to even create one break point.

The third seed set the tone early, breaking in the very first game of the match and conceding only two points on his own serve throughout the first set.

Top seed Tsitsipas had a little more joy against the serve in the second set, but to no avail and he was once again broken in the opening game to leave him playing catch-up.

Auger-Aliassime broke again in the fifth game to take complete control of the contest, and he fittingly ended with a serve game to love to wrap up the victory.

The 21-year-old had lost his last five meetings with Tsitsipas but needed less than 80 minutes to see him off on this occasion, claiming his biggest career title to date in the process. body check tags ::
