Leicester Tigers 'to sign Jonny May from Gloucester Rugby'

A report claims that Jonny May is to join Leicester Tigers from Gloucester Rugby in a cash-plus-player deal that will involve Ed Slater heading the opposite way.

Leicester Tigers are reportedly on the brink of signing England wing Jonny May from Gloucester Rugby in a deal that will see Ed Slater move the opposite way.

May, who is into the final year of his Kingsholm contract, is expected to fill the void left by outgoing pair Peter Betham and JP Pietersen at Welford Road.

BBC Sport reports that Leicester will also pay a fee as part of the transfer, with former Tigers captain Slater poised to put pen to paper with Gloucester.

It is suggested that both players are to undergo medicals and an announcement will be made at some stage next week.

May has been capped 27 times for England at senior level since making his debut in June 2013, while Slater has featured four times for the England Saxons side.
