Which are some of the best rugby teams of all time?
Sports Mole

Rugby Union has many fans from different parts of the world, even though it falls behind other sports, like cricket, tennis and football. If you are interested in this sport, you probably know that there were several amazing teams in the last couple of years.

With that being said, let's check out some of the most impressive rugby union teams that you may have heard about.

France in 1994

The first team that definitely has to be on this list is France's squad back in 1994. During that time, New Zealand was widely regarded as one of the strongest nations in this sport. Needless to say, it was pretty much impossible to be beat them, especially when they had the home advantage.

However, the 1984 France team managed to go to Auckland and defeat the mighty squads in one of the most dramatic series in rugby history. Since then, some people have paid special attention to this country's team, especially after downloading the betfred mobile app for iPhone and Android. After all, France became the team that managed to ruin New Zealand's streak, which lasted for 45 years.

Australia in 1984

Led by Alan Jones, Australia's 1984 team was full of young players, which is why people didn't expect them to do much. However, instead of "living up to the expectations", they shocked the world by becoming the first Australian team to achieve a Home Nations Grand Slam.

Following this success, Australia became one of the big names in rugby unions, especially among fans. Prior to this fantastic performance, the country was mostly popular for its cricket and rugby league teams.

South Africa in 1995

As some of you may know, 1995 was challenging for South Africa. The country had many issues, but thanks to the fact they became the World Cup winners, they overcame most of them.

One of the most impressive players during that year was Francois Pienaar. Despite being the underdogs, South Africa managed to defeat the mighty team of New Zealand, something that most people thought to be impossible.

New Zealand between 1987 and 1990

This country is often considered to be one of the driving forces in this sport. Even though they always had a good team, the All Blacks between 1987 and 1990 can safely be regarded as one of the best of all time.

During those years, the legendary squad didn't lose in 23 matches in a row after securing 22 wins, which is really impressive. On top of that, All Blacks were the most dominant force during the '87 World Cup, thanks to players such as Grant Fox and Joe Stanley.

Even after all those years, people still remember New Zealand's incredible performance.

England in 2003

England's team back in 2002 and 2003 managed to achieve a Six Nations Grand Slam, following the victories against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The team was so good back then that they even managed to win the World Cup.
