Tottenham Hotspur 'calm over seating issues at new ground'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident of playing their first Premier League home game on September 15 as scheduled, despite another construction setback.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident that an issue with thousands of faulty seats at their new ground "will not have any impact" on their official moving-in date.

The Lilywhites are said to have hit another construction setback, as 15,000 dark blue padded seats have been installed without the correct pigment to guard against the colour fading.

Sky Sports News reports that Tottenham have already taken action to rectify the problem, though, and they are confident of playing their first Premier League home game as scheduled against Liverpool on September 15.

A club spokesman is quoted as saying: "All seats affected are being swiftly replaced and it will not have any impact on the scheduling of our operational test events that are due to commence at the start of August - or our first home fixture in our new stadium against Liverpool."

The operational test events for the 62,000-capacity stadium are due to begin on August 5.
