Former Manchester United midfielder Liam Miller is reportedly battling cancer.

The 36-year-old represented United between 2004 and 2006, and also turned out for Leeds United, Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers in the English game.

Miller moved to Australia in 2011 to join Perth Glory, but is currently contracted to semi-professional American club Wilmington Hammerheads FC.

The former Republic of Ireland international is now reported to be fighting pancreatic cancer, although this is unconfirmed.

"Awful news about Liam Miller keep the fingers crossed that he somehow pulls through. Was in the USA for treatment this month and flys back tomorrow to start chemo here," BBC pundit Tam McManus tweeted on Sunday night. "He's still fighting it. Will say a prayer for him tonight."

Miller started his professional career with Celtic before moving to United in the summer of 2004.
