Four of the best golfers of all time
Sports Mole

Even though some people don't like golf, it is safe to say that this is one of the world's most famous sports. This is a club-and-ball sport, where players have to use clubs to hit a ball. The goal of the sport is to hit the ball into several holes with as few strokes as possible, which might seem easy, but it could be complicated, especially in some cases.

Unlike most other sports that can be played in a standardized area, golf is unique because every course is different. Some of them have more holes than others, and you can often find things like sandboxes and even small lakes.

Most resources claim that the game originates from Scotland. Interestingly, the oldest golf tournament in the world is called the British Open, and it was first held in 1860, which is impressive.

With that being said, let's take a look at some of the players who are often considered to be among the best golfers in the world.

Tiger Woods

The first person that we wanted to include won't surprise some of you because he is often regarded as the most famous golfer globally. In fact, Tiger Woods is one of the primary reasons why online bookies, such as Novibet, decided to include golf as a betting option.

The legendary golf player holds several records, making him one of the best athletes of all time. He is a part of the World Golf Hall of Fame, something that only a few people have access to.

Tiger Woods became a professional player back in 1996, following his fantastic amateur career. After winning seven events during the year, he won his first Major in 1997 by 12 strokes, one of the most impressive records in this sport.

Jack Nicklaus

The next player that every golf fan knows is known as "The Golden Bear" because of his exceptional skills. Jack participated in 165 major events, won 117 professional tournaments, including 18 major championships.

One of the things that made Jack Nicklaus famous was that he became the first player to complete a double and a triple career grand slams. His last professional appearance was in 2005. Since his retirement, he is a part of one of the biggest golf course design companies in the world.

Ben Hogan

William Ben Hogan will always be remembered as one of the greatest golf players. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1997, at the age of 84. What's interesting about him is that he is one of the world's five players who managed to win all four majors.

Gary Player

The last person that we wanted to include in this article is the South African superstar Gary Player. He won nine major tournaments on the regular tour and nine more on the Championship Tour.

One of the most exciting things about this living legend is that he became the first golfer outside the U.S. to win all four Majors.

Some people know Gary Players for his nicknames - the Black Knight and Mr. Fitness.
