Monisha Kaltenborn has reportedly walked away from her role at the Sauber Formula 1 team.

The team principal and chief executive has opted to leave her position after reportedly failing to agree with her colleagues on how the team should be run.

According to Motorsport.com, Kaltenborn was not on board with the owners wanting to give driver Marcus Ericsson priority over Pascal Wehrlein.

It is believed that lengthy talks were held between the two parties, but agreements could not be reached and the decision to part ways was made.

Kaltenborn became CEO in January 2010 after spending a decade as head of the team's legal department.
