Besides the cars themselves, Formula 1 is really popular because of the different drivers.
Sports Mole

Formula 1 is the favourite sport of every car enthusiast; after all, some of the best car brands in the world go up against each other every year.

Besides the cars themselves, this sport is really popular because of the different drivers. There are numerous F1 pilots who worked alongside brands like Ferrari, Renault, Mercedes, and more. With that being said, let's check some of the most popular (and also the best) Formula 1 drivers of all time.

Lewis Hamilton

The first person that deserves to be on this list is none other than Lewis Hamilton. The British driver is the best formula driver in the last ten years, during which he broke several records. No wonder most people who visit the Betway Sports section decide to bet on him.

At the time of writing this article, Lewis Hamilton is actively playing, and he has a real chance to surpass Michael Schumacher's record (91 GP wins). Some F1 fans think that Hamilton is doing so well only because he is a part of Mercedes, but he is definitely one of the world's most gifted drivers.

Jim Clark

Some of you may not know the second person on this list, but it's safe to say that Jim Clark used to be one of the best drivers in the world. He is considered to be one of the most gifted pilots of all time. Besides his driving skills, Clark was also famous for being one of the few athletes who doesn't like attention.

Unfortunately, Jim passed away in 1968.

Michael Schumacher

This is without a doubt the most famous F1 driver in the world. Besides winning 91 races and breaking pretty much every record in the sport, Schumacher is famous for his aggressive driving style. That's why some F1 fans often compare him to Senna.

Sadly, the German superstar is not competing anymore due to an accident that took place several years ago. However, his son decided to follow his father's footsteps. He is currently a part of a team called Haas.

Ayrton Senna

Up next, we have Ayrton Senna, one of the most popular Brazilian drivers in the world. Even though this country is famous for having one of the best national soccer teams in the world, it also has several world-class F1 pilots.

Senna was famous for his never-ending passion for the sport. He always wanted to win, which made him one of the most beloved drivers. Sadly, the legend died during the San Marino GP 27 years ago.

Interestingly, McLaren, one of the most popular sports-car brands, decided to use Ayrton's name for one of their latest hypercars.

Sir Stirling Moss

The last F1 driver that we want to include on this list is Sir Stirling Moss, a person that won 212 races. He was widely regarded as one of the best athletes in this sport, which is impressive.

Moss was born in 1929 but sadly passed away in 2020.
