Wolves to break transfer record for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez?

By , Reporter | 5d
Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly decide that they are willing to break their transfer record to secure a permanent deal for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly decided that they are prepared to spend big in order to sign Raul Jimenez from Benfica on a permanent basis.

The West Midlands outfit brought in Jimenez on a season-long loan deal after securing a return to the Premier League, and the Mexico international has started each of the club's 15 games in the top flight.

The 27-year-old has contributed four goals and four assists during that period and according to O Jogo, that has been enough to convince Wolves that they wish to acquire the striker's services.

The report suggests that Wolves are willing to pay £33m in order to complete the permanent signing of Jimenez at the end of the season, providing that the club remain in the Premier League.

Jimenez made a total of 88 league appearances for Benfica over a three-year period before joining Wolves, but just twenty of those outings came from the starting lineup.
