Leo Bonatini: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers won't fear Manchester City'

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leo Bonatini says that the Championship outfit will not show any fear when playing Manchester City in the EFL Cup.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leo Bonatini has suggested that he and his teammates should take confidence into their EFL Cup fixture with Manchester City.

The Premier League leaders have won their last 10 games in all competitions and head the top-flight table by five points, but Wolves sit top of the Championships standings after registering nine wins from 13 games.

Both teams are likely to make mass changes for the contest at the Etihad Stadium, but Bonatini has called on Wolves to show no fear against Pep Guardiola's side.

The 23-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "It will be a tough game for us and for them as well. We will go there and try to play our football.

"It doesn't matter who we play against, we need to respect them and that respect means we need to play and if we get a chance to score we score and we will try to do our best.

"We don't need to scared of them. It's just football, it's 11 against 11, we know what we can do, and we did well until now so we need to know what we can do to get confidence because if we are not confident we know how it will be so we have to go there and do what we want to and what we like to do."

Bonatini has contributed seven goals and four assists from 13 appearances at the second tier.
