Jack Wilshere hopes West Ham United can clinch European place

Jack Wilshere reveals that he wants "to be playing in Europe" and is hoping that West Ham United can achieve Champions League or Europa League qualification next season.

Jack Wilshere has admitted that he wants "to be playing in Europe" and is hoping that West Ham United can achieve this target next season.

The Hammers endured a difficult Premier League campaign last time out, battling relegation before ultimately finishing 13th in the table.

West Ham have since spent heavily on players and coaches, bringing in former Manchester City and Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini as well as a host of impressive names to bolster the playing squad.

"We don't want to put any limits on our season," the new Hammers recruit told Sky Sports News. "We've got some top players who have played in Europe's top leagues at top clubs.

"From a personal point of view I want to be playing in Europe. From the players they've brought in and the players that are there, they want a better season than they did last year. It's important we take each game as it comes and build up from there."

Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski are among the players to have joined Wilshere as new arrivals at the London Stadium this summer.
