David Moyes hints Adrian could replace Joe Hart as number one

West Ham United boss David Moyes hints that Adrian could become his new number one goalkeeper ahead of Joe Hart.

West Ham United boss David Moyes has hinted that Adrian could become his new number one ahead of Joe Hart.

Adrian made his first Premier League appearance of the season in Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City due to Hart being ineligible to face his parent club.

Adrian made a number of impressive saves during his team's 2-1 defeat, and said after the match that he was hopeful of keeping his position for next weekend's home game against Chelsea.

Moyes was asked about Adrian's performance after the match, and the Scot suggested that the stopper had done enough to retain his spot.

"If you get the jersey in football you hope you can retain it. You hope that if you play well you might get another chance. That's football and I don't think that's changed," he told BBC Sport.

West Ham will host Chelsea and Arsenal in their next two Premier League matches.
