Chelsea youngster Ian Maatsen rejected the chance to rejoin Burnley on transfer deadline day in favour of staying at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old was a key figure for the Clarets under Vincent Kompany last season, scoring four goals and registering six assists in 42 games to help propel Burnley back into the Premier League.

Maatsen was subsequently given the chance to prove himself in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino and impressed during the Blues' summer tour of the USA, scoring twice in a 5-0 win over Wrexham.

The France international has been fighting tooth and nail to engineer a move to the Parc des Princes during the final hours of the summer transfer window, but a move was seemingly dead in the water earlier on deadline day.

While Kolo Muani had agreed personal terms with PSG some time ago, Frankfurt were determined to bring in a replacement before sanctioning the striker's exit and were eyeing PSG youngster Hugo Ekitike.

A permanent exit this summer was always believed to be unlikely due to the sensitive situation, but a loan move for the England international has been secured in the final stages of the market.

In January 2022, following accusations from a woman, Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the permanent signing of Wales international attacker Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old has joined Ange Postecoglou's side on a six-year contract until the summer of 2029, and Spurs are said to have paid around £47.5m for his services.

Johnson will wear the number 22 shirt at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and becomes Spurs' seventh new arrival of the summer after Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Veliz, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon and Ashley Phillips.

Johnson leaves the City Ground after donning the Forest colours for 14 years, having joined the club's academy in 2009, and he registered 29 goals and 12 assists in 109 appearances.

Vlachodimos arrives in Nottingham to challenge Matt Turner for the number one spot after a deal for former loanee Dean Henderson - who is now on the books at Crystal Palace - fell through.

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on an initial loan deal from Fiorentina for the 2023-24 campaign.

The 27-year-old's future has been the subject of much speculation throughout the summer, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in his signature.

Amrabat has not been involved for Fiorentina in the early stages of the season amid the speculation surrounding a possible exit, and it is believed that he has been holding out for a switch to Old Trafford.

Man United have now confirmed the Morocco international's arrival on an initial loan deal, but it is understood that the club have the chance to sign him permanently next summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo is reportedly set to remain at Fulham after a proposed move to Ligue 1 side Monaco fell through.

The defender, who joined Fulham from Manchester City in 2020, has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage throughout the transfer window.

With less than 12 months left to run on the player's contract, Fulham have been open to selling Adarabioyo rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Serie A giants Inter Milan showed an interest early in the transfer window, while Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a potential move.

Liverpool have announced the signing of Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old has joined Jurgen Klopp's side for a reported £34.2m and has penned a five-year contract until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

Gravenberch becomes the fourth new face to arrive at Anfield this summer, following fellow midfielders Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister to the club for the 2023-24 season.

This summer is the third transfer window for the Blues since the American succeeded Roman Abramovich as owner, and they have been very busy in each of those.

"After losing Geraldo Bajrami we felt it was important to strengthen defensively, so we're delighted to have secured Lewis' services," read a statement from the County board.

"Although he spent most of his time at Dundalk as a full-back, he is more than comfortable at centre-back and possesses all the attributes we look for in someone who can play on the right of a back three.

"As well as being defensively sound, Lewis is energetic and an excellent crosser of the ball. We feel he can make positive contributions in attacking phases, as well as defensive.

"With Kyle Cameron, Aden Baldwin, Richard Brindley, Connell Rawlinson and Ollie Tipton already in place, as well as Adam Chicksen who has proven himself more than capable in central positions, we're confident that we're now well covered in defence, as well as all other areas of the squad.

"We wish Luke and the players well for what promises to be an exciting match against Accrington Stanley on Saturday."

Louie Watson joins Charlton on loan from Luton

"I'm absolutely buzzing to be here. I can't wait to get started and integrate with the boys," he told the club website.

"Charlton is a young, exciting team with high ambition which is going to suit me as an individual. I feel like I am going to suit the team with my attributes and I feel like the other lads' attributes can suit me as well."

Technical Director Andy Scott added: "Louie is a young player who left Derby and went to Luton and did very well. He has already made a number of appearances for Derby and has been involved with Luton's first team.

"He is another player who is highly-regarded and their rise to the Premier League has given us this unique opportunity to get a young player with immense talent into our football club.

"Unfortunately we have had a number of injuries in our midfield area and so the acquisition of Louie will complement the group well and give us more strength in depth."

Jonny Evans signs one-year contract at Manchester United

Manchester United have announced that experienced centre-back Jonny Evans has signed a one-year contract with the club, which will be valid until June 2024.

The 35-year-old began training with his former club following his release from Leicester City at the end of June, and he penned a short-term deal at Old Trafford to allow him to feature during pre-season.

Evans played in four friendlies over the summer, and it is believed that he has made a huge impression on his return to the club with his leadership qualities.

Man United have had a busy transfer deadline day, confirming deals for Altay Bayindir and Sergio Reguilon, while Sofyan Amrabat is close to arriving on loan from Fiorentina.

Burnley's Marcel Lewis joins Dundee on loan

"I'm delighted to be here at Dundee and I am really looking forward to getting started. I had my first training session today and met everyone and it's a great group and I am excited to get started," he told the club website.

"Charlie Adam at Burnley gave me a phone and said I was coming up to Dundee which I was over the moon about. Charlie told me that the club is a great place to be with great players and a really good set-up. I want to get as many games as I can and pitch in with goals and assists to help the team."

Manager Tony Docherty added: "Marcel is a young player that was brought to our attention, he has been at Chelsea and spent time in Belgium. He is a very productive attacking player who likes to drive at defenders.

"He is also a technically gifted footballer, who has real ability on the ball and will help us be creative in that final third. He has been recommended by Jody Morris and Charlie Adam as an extremely creative player and has been brought in to enhance an already strong squad.

"Marcel gives us another young hungry player who wants to impress and prove himself in this league and I am delighted we have been able to bring him in."
