Sydney FC want to sign experienced forward Fernando Torres following his release from Atletico Madrid, according to a report.

Sydney FC are reportedly firmly in the hunt for experienced forward Fernando Torres.

The 34-year-old is currently available on a free transfer having left Atletico Madrid.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the former Spain international, who has represented Atletico, Liverpool, Chelsea and AC Milan during a successful playing career.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the striker would choose between MLS club Chicago Fire and Japanese outfit Sagan Tosu this summer.

However, according to The Guardian, A-League outfit Sydney are confident of enticing the former Spain international to Australia.

Torres scored 10 times in 45 appearances for Atletico during the 2017-18 campaign, and appeared in 27 of his team's 38 league matches last term. body check tags ::
