Tottenham Hotspur 'open to selling young attacker amid Bundesliga interest'

:Headline: Tottenham Hotspur 'open to selling young attacker amid Bundesliga interest':
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly open to parting ways with 22-year-old striker Troy Parrott, who is said to be attracting interest from teams in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham Hotspur are supposedly open to letting one of their youthful attackers leave amid interest from Bundesliga clubs.

Republic of Ireland international Troy Parrott has spent nearly seven years on the books with the Lilywhites, whom he joined as a teenager from Belvedere FC in the summer of 2017.

However, the 22-year-old has only turned out for the senior Lilywhites team on four occasions, all of which came in the 2019-20 season under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

Parrott's most recent appearance for Tottenham came just before the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, since when he has been loaned out on five occasions to increase his senior experience.

MK Dons, Millwall, Ipswich Town and Preston North End have all taken Parrott on in recent years, and he enjoyed his most productive spell in England with the former, banking 10 goals and seven assists in 47 matches.

Parrott thriving in the Eredivisie

Having spent four separate spells with clubs in the lower English leagues, the 22-year-old was instead shipped out to Dutch side SBV Excelsior for the 2023-24 season, and he has made a name for himself in the Netherlands.

Parrott has contributed eight goals and four assists in 22 Eredivisie fixtures for his current loan club, scoring one and setting up another in a 4-0 beating of Volendam on Friday following a hamstring injury.

The 6ft 1in striker is due to report back to Hotspur Way this summer, but his deal only runs until the summer of 2025, and he is not believed to have a future at the club under Ange Postecoglou.

With the upcoming window being their last chance to recoup a sizeable fee, Football Insider claims that Tottenham are prepared to entertain offers for the Irishman ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Thanks to his Eredivisie exploits, Parrott is believed to have caught the eye of clubs in the Bundesliga, although Tottenham will still hold out for an acceptable fee before severing ties with the striker.

Parrott among a few attackers who could leave Tottenham

The Republic of Ireland international - who has scored four goals for his nation - could be one of several offensive players to head for the Tottenham exit door this summer, a list which also includes on-loan RB Leipzig man Timo Werner.

Spurs are yet to decide whether to trigger the option in the German's agreement to sign him permanently, while Alejo Veliz is likely to be loaned out once again for the 2024-25 campaign.

The 20-year-old Argentine has only turned out on three occasions for Sevilla since joining the Spanish outfit on loan in January, totalling a paltry 23 minutes and failing to bag a goal or assist.

A former Sevilla frontman - Bryan Gil - is also on the chopping block amid his frequent struggles to get a look-in under Postecoglou, who has only handed him two Premier League starts in the current season.

The 23-year-old has already been loaned back out to his homeland with Sevilla and Valencia and is now believed to be pining for a permanent departure, which Tottenham will sanction for the right price. body check tags ::
