Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a transfer offer to Rennes attacker Martin Terrier.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal goalscoring season with Les Rouges et Noir, netting 21 times and providing four assists in 36 Ligue 1 matches under Bruno Genesio.

Terrier has featured as a centre-forward and winger for Rennes this season, although he was not involved in either Conference League game with Spurs earlier in the campaign.

Terrier's goals have propelled Rennes into the mix for Champions League football this season, but Genesio's side are three points behind Marseille and Monaco in fourth heading into their final-day meeting with Lille.

The former Lyon man has now struck a total of 30 goals and 15 assists in 83 games for Rennes since arriving in 2020, and his contract at Roazhon Park does not expire until 2025.

However, Terrier's exploits this season have not gone unnoticed across Europe, and according to Foot Mercato - via Get French Football News - Tottenham have been alerted to his situation.

The report adds that Tottenham have gone as far as to table a contract offer to the former France Under-21 international, and Rennes are yet to respond to Spurs' interest.

The striker was questioned on his future with the club earlier in the season, but he pointed to his long-running deal and feels that he has "blossomed" in Brittany.

"We'll see how things go at the end of the season, but I'm under contract here until 2025. I have blossomed here and I'm happy to be here," Terrier told Prime Video.

Terrier is one of only four players to score 20 goals in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season, one ahead of Moussa Dembele and behind Kylian Mbappe (25) and Wissam Ben Yedder (24).

Tottenham could be on the lookout for a new striker if Harry Kane pushes for a move away from the club in the summer, with the England captain set to end another season without a trophy.

Kane tried and failed to force a transfer elsewhere in 2021, but the 28-year-old recently hinted that he would be prepared to stay on at Tottenham, so long as Antonio Conte remains in charge.

"I have no idea [about Conte's future] to be honest, that is his decision. But he has worked really hard while he has been here, he's a great guy, a really passionate man so whatever his decision is you have to respect it. But for sure I am enjoying it and I know the boys are enjoying working with him," Kane told the Evening Standard.

"I have said I am a big fan of his and we get on really well so of course it would be great for the club if he stays. But like I have said that is his decision, he's his own man, and I'm sure he will talk to the club and decide on his future. From our point of view we are all enjoying working with him."

Tottenham will aim to seal a place in the 2022-23 Champions League with victory over Norwich City on the final day of the Premier League season this weekend following Arsenal's 2-0 loss to Newcastle United on Monday. body check tags ::
