Tottenham Hotspur handed boost in Patrik Schick pursuit?

:Headline: Tottenham Hotspur handed boost in Patrik Schick pursuit?:
RB Leipzig are reportedly unsure whether to sign Roma forward Patrik Schick on a permanent basis, potentially handing an opening to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received a boost in the race to sign Roma forward Patrik Schick.

With the Czech Republic international having spent the campaign on loan at RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga outfit have the chance to sign the attacker on a permanent basis.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic have led to Leipzig having doubts over whether to pay a big-money fee.

While Roma are said to have reduced his asking price to €26.5m (£23.24m), the Italian side apparently want the fee paid up-front rather than in instalments.

Leipzig may opt against that option, leaving Spurs to contemplate whether they wish to jump to the front of the queue for the 24-year-old.

Schick, who has scored seven goals from 19 games this season, can play in a number of positions in the final third, arguably making him ideal backup to Harry Kane. body check tags ::
