Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among the clubs who are considering making a move for Leeds United defender Robin Koch.

Ahead of their return to the Premier League in 2020, Leeds made the decision to shell out £11.7m to sign Koch from Freiburg.

Since then, the centre-back has gone on to make 55 starts and seven substitute outings in the Premier League, helping keep the Yorkshire giants in the top flight.

In terms of game time, the 26-year-old's most active campaign has been 2022-23, the Germany international featuring on 25 occasions in the league.

However, Koch is at a stage in his career and contract where his long-term future remains an uncertainty with less than 16 months remaining on his existing terms.

With Leeds currently fighting to remain in the Premier League, it is realistically unlikely that any new contract at Elland Road will be finalised before June.

That effectively leaves Leeds at risk of one of their most prized assets and important players entering the final 12 months of their contract.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs are among the clubs who are monitoring the situation.

While the North London outfit are not short of options in the centre of defence, Clement Lenglet is expected to return to parent club Barcelona this summer and there are doubts over the long-term future of Davinson Sanchez.

RB Leipzig are also said to be interested in offering Koch the opportunity to return to his homeland and represent a club who may have to look for a replacement for Josko Gvardiol.

The Croatia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League or La Liga, despite claims by head coach Marco Rose that he will remain at Leipzig for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are credited as admirers of Koch with Eddie Howe potentially needing to add depth to his options in the middle of defence.

With Koch also capable of deputising in a defensive-midfield role if required, signing a versatile player would appeal to Eddie Howe at a time when Newcastle will be aiming to stay within FFP limits. body check tags ::
