How Manchester City could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola should have all of his players available for Thursday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.

Ruben Dias and John Stones were both absent from Saturday's Manchester derby defeat to Manchester United, with the former still struggling with the hamstring issue that he sustained at the World Cup.

However, Guardiola has confirmed that the pair will be in contention to play on Thursday alongside Kevin De Bruyne, who was not involved in training on Tuesday due to personal reasons.

Nevertheless, rotation could be on the cards at the back either way, as a refreshed Aymeric Laporte is aiming to force his way back in alongside Manuel Akanji, with Nathan Ake's spot potentially at risk.

Ex-Tottenham man Kyle Walker, Joao Cancelo and Ederson are all primed to hold their places in defence, and the same goes for Rodri and De Bruyne in the engine room.

However, there should be scope for Ilkay Gundogan to return to the engine room, which could threaten Riyad Mahrez's place if Bernardo Silva shifts across to the right flank.

Jack Grealish replaced Phil Foden before the hour mark at Old Trafford and should now be in with a strong chance of starting after breaking the deadlock in that game, while Erling Braut Haaland will aim to avoid going three games without a goal for just the second time in the top five European leagues.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Laporte, Cancelo; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Silva, Haaland, Grealish
