Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly abandoned their pursuit of Queens Park Rangers forward Eberechi Eze following the club's decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino.

The 21-year-old, who has scored four goals for the R's this season, is said to have emerged on the radar of several top Premier League clubs.

It was claimed that Spurs were looking to make a bid worth £20m for Eze, but the player now looks likely to remain at the Championship club this term.

According to The Sun, Pochettino's departure last week has scuppered the prospect of the player joining the North London club.

New manager Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on assessing all of his options before making a decision on future transfer policy.
