Tottenham Hotspur 'ask sacked boss Mauricio Pochettino to take pay cut'

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly asked sacked boss Mauricio Pochettino to take a pay cut on his £8.5m annual salary to help ease the club's financial concerns.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been asked by former club Tottenham Hotspur to consider taking a wage reduction in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Spurs parted company with the 48-year-old in November after four-and-a-half years at the club and instantly replaced him with Jose Mourinho.

The North London outfit are still paying Pochettino's £8.5m annual salary until he finds a new job, but the Daily Mail claims that chairman Daniel Levy is hopeful that a reduced figure can be agreed to help ease financial concerns.

The report indicates that Tottenham are also looking to strike deals with the Argentinian's backroom team, including coaches Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Toni Jimenez.

Pochettino has been linked with the Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus jobs since leaving Spurs six months ago.
