Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that he was 'very upset with himself' after making a glaring error during Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

The France international gifted the Saints an equaliser at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he attempted a turn inside his own box before losing possession - allowing Danny Ings to convert for 1-1.

Mauricio Pochettino's side ultimately scored once more without reply to secure an important three points, but Lloris was not pleased with his individual mistake in the Premier League clash.

"As a keeper you can make that kind of mistake but the most important thing is how you react, to keep your chin up. I was very upset with myself but that's normal," Lloris told talkSPORT.

"In the second half I stayed in my game, stayed calm and this mistake didn't cost the team any points and that's the most important thing."

Spurs will now switch their attention to the Champions League as they prepare to welcome Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to the English capital on Tuesday night.
