Tottenham Hotspur attacker Manor Solomon is reportedly facing a couple of months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Israel international arrived in North London on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, having impressed while on loan at Fulham last season.

Solomon has two assists to show from his first six games in a Tottenham jersey, both of which came on his first Premier League start for the Lilywhites in a 5-2 triumph over Burnley.

Solomon kept his place in the starting lineup for Spurs' 2-1 win over Sheffield United, but he has only been given second-half run-outs off the bench against Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old came through the controversial success over Liverpool without any issues, but according to The Athletic, he has now entered the treatment room with a severe knee problem.

The report states that Solomon tore his meniscus in a recent training session, and he is expected to miss a couple of months in yet another new injury blow for Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs boss will deliver an update on Solomon's condition when he faces the media on Friday, as Tottenham prepare to meet Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in Saturday's lunchtime Premier League kickoff.

Should Solomon indeed be ruled out until the start of December, the Israeli attacker would miss a crucial period of fixtures for Spurs, who have three successive London derbies against Fulham, Crystal Palace and Chelsea to come following their meeting with the Hatters.

Tottenham will also battle Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa in November, before visiting the Etihad for a date with champions Manchester City on December 2, which Solomon could potentially return for should his recovery go to plan.

As well as sitting out that batch of domestic fixtures, the former Shakhtar man will also be unavailable for Israel's Euro 2024 qualifying matches versus Switzerland and Kosovo this month, as well as a pair of November meetings with Romania and Andorra.

Solomon's problem deepens Tottenham's selection crisis out wide, as fellow left-winger Ivan Perisic recently sustained an ACL problem on the practice pitches and is facing a race against time to return before the end of the season.

In addition, Solomon's fellow summer arrival Brennan Johnson missed the win over Liverpool with a hamstring problem, and the former Nottingham Forest man has not been called up to the Wales squad for the upcoming international break.

Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Bryan Gil (groin) are also on the road to recovery from surgery, although the latter is now said to be back in team training, while Sessegnon has resumed light work at Hotspur Way.

Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Giovani Lo Celso (thigh) and Alfie Whiteman (ankle) are also taking up beds in the medical bay at Tottenham, who would temporarily go top of the Premier League table with victory against Luton this weekend. body check tags ::
