How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Manchester City

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Manchester City in the pick of this weekend's Premier League games.

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester City to Wembley Stadium this weekend with the aim of prolonging their unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Not since the reverse fixture on December 16, when going down 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium, have the Lilywhites tasted defeat in the top flight.

That 14-match run is their longest since 1967, and it has left the Londoners on the brink of another top-four finish under Mauricio Pochettino.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the options available to Pochettino for the visit of champions-elect City.

Out: Danny Rose (calf), Harry Winks (ankle), Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring)

Rose has been ruled out of Saturday's match and could also miss the Lilywhites' next couple of games, meaning an extended run at left-back for the reliable Ben Davies.

On the opposite flank, Kieran Trippier was rested for the 2-1 win against Stoke and may be restored in place of Serge Aurier, while Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen are now very much the first-choice central-defensive pairing.

Harry Kane's swifter-than-expected return from an ankle injury has been a big boost for Pochettino, and it seems certain that the Englishman will retain his spot through the middle this weekend, even if he has a pretty underwhelming goalscoring return against City.

The only other big decision comes in attacking midfield, where Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura are pushing for recalls to the starting lineup, but the form of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min is keeping them out of the side.
