Harry Redknapp: 'Tottenham Hotspur will not park the bus against Real Madrid'

Harry Redknapp claims that Tottenham Hotspur will 'not park the bus' against Real Madrid in tonight's Champions League clash.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that the team will not be overly defensive when they face Real Madrid this evening.

Mauricio Pochettino's men will take on the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu in a Champions League group match, with both teams having won their first two games.

Redknapp has first-hand experience of the fixture having taken Spurs to Madrid in 2011 - a game which the Premier League club lost 4-0 and had Peter Crouch sent off.

"If [Tottenham] come away with a point, [Pochettino] will be delighted but I don't think he will go there there and just park the bus because he knows it is difficult to do that for 90 minutes," the out-of-work manager told talkSPORT.

"When I went there, we got off to an horrendous start. Crouchie got sent off after about 12 minutes and that is all you need, playing with ten men. It was hard enough with 11.

"He will just hope things go their way tonight. Real Madrid have fantastic players. Their passing and movement is fantastic and they have got [Cristiano] Ronaldo. Real Madrid are going to score. Tottenham will have to score to get anything out of the game tonight."

Spurs are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions.
