Luka Modric has revealed that he is yet to speak with Real Madrid over his future beyond the end of the campaign.
The 39-year-old penned another one-year contract extension with Los Blancos last summer, and he has again been an important player for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season, scoring four times and registering seven assists in 44 appearances.
Modric will be 40 at the start of next season, but he has shown no signs of slowing down this term, with the Croatia international still having the full trust of head coach Ancelotti and his teammates.
There has recently been speculation surrounding a potential new deal, with Real Madrid said to be keen to keep him for a further year.
However, Modric has insisted that he has not yet spoken with the European and Spanish champions over his future.
"No hurry. I will discuss with the club what's the best option for them and for me. We haven't talked yet," Modric told Telefoot.
Modric in "no hurry" to discuss Real Madrid future
Modric made the move to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, and he has represented the Spanish side on 579 occasions, scoring 43 goals and registering 93 assists in the process.
The midfielder was a second-half substitute in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Villarreal in La Liga last weekend, and he is currently with the Croatia squad on international duty.
Modric was also asked about his teammate Kylian Mbappe, with the two players again set to lock horns on Sunday night in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final between Croatia and France.
Croatia will take a 2-0 advantage into the return match, with France having a lot to do if they are to make the quarter-finals.
Modric lavishes praise on "incredible" Mbappe
"No need to say anything. He is one of the best. He makes things easy, maybe I'd never seen this before," Modric told reporters.
"What surprised me the most is the person he is. He's an incredible guy, very humble, always joking with us, very calm. People say this is not his best season but he has already scored 30 goals, now imagine if he improves his level. He is incredible.
"If Kylian continues to do things like this and help Real Madrid like he's doing I'm sure he will be one of the favourites to win not one but a few Ballon d'Or."
Mbappe has scored 30 goals and registered four assists in 43 appearances for Los Blancos this season, including 20 goals and three assists in 26 outings in the top flight of Spanish football.
Real Madrid will be back in La Liga action against Leganes on March 29, before welcoming Real Sociedad to Bernabeu for the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on April 1. body check tags ::
