Real Madrid 'make Fabian Ruiz top midfield priority'

:Headline: Real Madrid 'make Fabian Ruiz top midfield priority':
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to prioritise the signing of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz during the next transfer window.

Real Madrid reportedly intend to prioritise the signing of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz later in 2020.

Since leaving Real Betis for Naples in 2018, Ruiz has established himself as a key man at Stadio San Paolo, contributing 10 goals from 72 appearances in all competitions.

However, the form of the 24-year-old has naturally led to interest from elsewhere, including from Real who are keen to freshen up their midfield.

According to AS, Los Blancos have made the Spaniard their number-one target in the centre of the pitch ahead of the next transfer window.

While it is suggested that Napoli have little desire to part ways with Ruiz, it is said that the player may not be willing to extend his contract past 2023 without an affordable release clause.

That seemingly leaves Real to try to tempt Napoli into a sale before the start of next season, aware that they will need to offer in excess of £60m. body check tags ::
