Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has played down fears that Eduardo Camavinga could be facing another spell on the sidelines after being forced off the field on his return to action.

The France international picked up a knee problem while training with his country in November, which saw him miss eight games for Los Blancos before returning as a starter against Arandina in the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid secured their spot in the last-16 stage of the competition courtesy of a 3-1 success over the fourth-tier outfit, with Joselu, Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo on the scoresheet.

Camavinga was replaced in the 59th minute of the match, and the manner of his exit led to suggestions that the midfielder could be facing another spell on the sidelines.

However, Ancelotti said that the 21-year-old had suffered 'a blow to his back' which "bothered him a little", calming fears that the issue was related to his knee.

The Real Madrid head coach also said that Camavinga would be available for the team's Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

"He had a blow to the back in the first part. It bothered him a little, but the knee is very good. He's back, he's fine and he'll be available for the next games," Ancelotti told reporters after the match.

Arda Guler also made his long-awaited debut in the match, with the Turkey international playing 59 minutes of the Copa del Rey fixture.

"Arda Guler has made a good time. The important thing was to get used to playing with the team. Little by little, your physical level and intensity will improve. We must be patient with him, but he has demonstrated his quality in the first part," Ancelotti added.

"It is important that he has returned. He has personality and character, and that's good. He has quality with his left leg, but character is an important aspect to do well at Real Madrid."

The Italian also provided an update on the recoveries of Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao, who have both been out of action with ACL injuries since August.

"Courtois trained this morning in the field in a soft way. The recovery is going well, like that of Militao. We don't have to be in a hurry with him," he said.

Vinicius Junior and Aurelien Tchouameni were both rested for the Copa del Rey contest with Arandina, but the pair will be back with the squad for the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Toni Kroos will also be bidding to overcome a minor ankle issue in order to feature in the competition. body check tags ::
