Nottingham Forest sign World Cup winner Gonzalo Montiel from Sevilla

"I'm really happy to have joined this club," Montiel told the club's official website. "I'm coming here full of expectations, of getting to play and showing what I can do. I'm also hungry to win things, to win trophies, now's the time to show this.

"I've been watching the Premier League since I was child, I used to watch every game. As a player you want to play in the best league, and the Premier League is just that."

Tottenham 'preparing offer for £50m-rated Johnson'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up an offer for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson.

The 22-year-old was in impressive form for the Reds during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

Johnson netted eight times in the Premier League, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future during this summer's transfer window.

Brentford, Aston Villa and West Ham United have been linked with the Wales international, who has been with Forest since the age of eight.

Al Arabi battling Al-Hilal, Man United for Verratti?

Al Arabi are reportedly lining up an official offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.

The Italy international has allegedly been told that he is free to leave the French champions during this summer's transfer window, with the club's new head coach Luis Enrique making him surplus to requirements.

Al-Hilal have long been considered as the favourites for the midfielder, and it is believed that the Saudi Arabian outfit agreed personal terms with him back in July.

However, there is not thought to be an agreement between the two clubs over the Italian, which has opened up the race for his signature approaching the latter stages of the window.

Bernardo Silva signs new three-year Man City contract

Manchester City have announced that Bernardo Silva has signed a new three-year contract, keeping him tied to the club until the summer of 2026.

The 29-year-old has been the subject of much speculation throughout the summer transfer window, as the playmaker was believed to be keen to seek pastures new.

The likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Hilal have all been credited with an interest in Bernardo, but the Citizens were unwilling to sell the Portuguese star for a fee below their £75m valuation.

Bennardo was initially under contract at the Etihad Stadium until June 2025, but with a summer transfer failing to materliaise, the playmaker has decided to commit his future to the treble winners by putting pen to paper on a contract extension until the summer of 2026.

Monaco 'launch £35m bid for Arsenal's Folarin Balogun'

Monaco have reportedly submitted a £35m offer for Arsenal centre-forward Folarin Balogun.

The United States international was involved in his team's preparations for the 2023-24 campaign but is yet to feature for Mikel Arteta's side during the current season.

Balogun is officially out with a foot injury, but he is also out of favour, with Eddie Nketiah currently leading the line in the absence of Gabriel Jesus, who could be back from a knee injury next month.

Chelsea have recently been credited with an interest in the striker, with tentative talks believed to have taken place between the player's representatives and officials from the Blues.

Man City 'identify Eberechi Eze as Lucas Paqueta alternative'

Manchester City will reportedly consider a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze after walking away from a deal to sign West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta.

Pep Guardiola is hoping to recruit a new midfielder before the summer transfer window closes on September 1 following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona and injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne.

The Citizens had identified Brazil international Paqueta as one of their top targets and they were allegedly close to agreeing an £80m deal with West Ham.

However, Man City have decided to walk away from negotiations with the Hammers as Paqueta is currently being investigated by FIFA and the FA over alleged betting breaches.

Varane appears to rule out Man United exit with social media post

Raphael Varane has seemingly ruled out a move away from Manchester United this summer amid suggestions that the centre-back is wanted by Al-Ittihad.

The 30-year-old made the move to Old Trafford from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, and he has represented the Red Devils on 65 occasions in all competitions.

Varane made 29 appearances during his first season with Man United before featuring 34 times during the 2022-23 campaign, helping the team to finish third in the Premier League table and win the EFL Cup.

The centre-back has played in both of his side's Premier League matches this season, meanwhile, netting the winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers last Monday.

Ancelotti says Real Madrid "never thought of" Osimhen

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that his club never considered moving for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old was in excellent form for his Italian club during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 31 occasions in 39 appearances, in addition to contributing five assists.

Osimhen scored 26 times during Napoli's Serie A title-winning campaign, and he was heavily linked with a move away from Naples in the early stages of the transfer market.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich were among the clubs thought to be interested in the Nigeria international, while Real Madrid were also thought to be keen.

Man City's Maximo Perrone joins Las Palmas on loan

Manchester City have confirmed that midfielder Maximo Perrone has joined Spanish side Las Palmas on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old joined the Citizens from Argentine outfit Velez Sarsfield in January, where he made a total of 33 senior appearances including his debut in March 2022.

Perrone only made two first-team substitute outings under Pep Guardiola last season as Man City went on to win a historic Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble.

The Argentina Under-20 international made his City debut in the 4-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth in February, before making a second substitute appearance just three days later in a 3-0 win against Bristol City in the FA Cup fifth round.

Man United's Brandon Williams 'set for move to Ipswich'

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Ipswich Town for Brandon Williams.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag confirmed on Saturday that Williams was in discussions over a move away from the club and would therefore not be considered for selection.

The Englishman only has a deal at Old Trafford until next June, and he is not in the plans of Ten Hag for the 2023-24 campaign, sitting down the pecking order when it comes to both full-back positions.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter that negotiations between Man United and Ipswich were 'advancing', with the Championship club moving to the head of the queue.

Spurs goalkeeper Lloris 'will not join Lazio'

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will reportedly not be signing for Lazio this summer.

Lloris has spent the last 11 years of his career at the North Londoners, making a total of 447 appearances in all competitions.

However, as a consequence of a number of mistakes during 2022-23 and an injury-restricted campaign, Spurs have since moved to a different option as number one.

Guglielmo Vicario arrived earlier in the summer transfer window, starting the club's opening two Premier League fixtures and keeping a clean sheet against Manchester United on Saturday.

Man United 'looking to sign two players before transfer deadline'

Manchester United will reportedly attempt to bring two new players to the club before the transfer window closes for business.

The Red Devils have made three signings during the current market, boosting their squad with the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.

Meanwhile, the 20-time English champions are in discussions with Jonny Evans over a potential return for the centre-back, with the Northern Ireland international set to be offered a one-year contract.

According to ESPN, Man United want to bring in a central midfielder and a goalkeeper before the end of the window, although any arrivals will depend on exits.

Johnson 'would prefer Spurs move over joining Chelsea'

Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is reportedly more open to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur than he is Chelsea.

The Wales international spent his first season in the Premier League during 2022-23, contributing eight goals and three assists from his 38 appearances.

With Forest looking to strengthen their squad and Johnson possessing a contract until 2026, Johnson appeared, at one stage, to likely remain at the City Ground.

However, widespread interest in his signature could change that perception with Forest allegedly open to a £50m sale.

Mason Greenwood 'unlikely to move to Saudi Pro League'

Mason Greenwood is reportedly unlikely to move to the Saudi Pro League despite recent reports that Saudi Arabia could offer him the opportunity rebuild his career.

The 21-year-old is currently searching for a new club, with Manchester United confirming earlier this week that the decision had been made for him to depart.

Last year, following accusations from a woman, Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.

The forward was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but the charges were dropped in February, so he is free to resume his career during the 2023-24 campaign.

Marcos Alonso 'to remain at Barcelona this summer'

Barcelona reportedly have no plans to allow Marcos Alonso to leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.

Last summer, the defender ended his six-year association with Chelsea to make the switch to Camp Nou on a free transfer.

Amid the club's financial issues, Alonso allegedly accepted a lower wage in comparison to the majority of his teammates in order to complete a move.

While the left-sided player was not regarded as a first-choice player, he still made 20 starts and 17 substitute outings in all competitions, ending the season with a La Liga winners' medal.

Man United 'closing in on £34m deal for Jean-Clair Todibo'

Manchester United are allegedly close to signing Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo in a €40m (£34m) deal.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last couple of weeks, although the speculation has cooled following the breakdown of Harry Maguire's proposed move to West Ham United.

Any deal for Todibo was thought to hinge on Maguire's future, but according to L'Equipe, the 20-time English champions are pressing ahead with a move for the centre-back.

The report claims that the deal is now 'in sight', with Erik ten Hag's said set to pay €40m (£34m) to bring him to Manchester before the end of the summer transfer window.

Fulham 'in talks with Juventus over Moise Kean deal'

Fulham have reportedly approached Juventus over a transfer for Italian striker Moise Kean.

The Cottagers are looking to strengthen their forward line before the transfer window shuts on September 1 following the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Serbia international Mitrovic recently left West London for Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in a club-record sale worth £46m.

Despite recruiting Raul Jimenez earlier this summer, Fulham boss Marco Silva has made it clear that he wants to sign a replacement for Mitrovic.

Man City 'considering offer for Wolves midfielder Nunes'

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly identified Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes as a potential addition ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window.

On the back of last season's historic treble, Guardiola has been overseeing a refresh of his squad, with Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic having moved to the Etihad Stadium.

Rennes winger Jeremy Doku is expected to follow in due course, but City will not be adding Lucas Paqueta to their ranks after the West Ham United midfielder found himself being investigated for possible breaches of betting regulations.

As a result, alternatives to the Brazil international are being considered, with one report indicating that Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze is on their radar.

Norwich City sign Pedro Lima on loan from Palmeiras

"I'm very excited, it's an amazing club. I'm very happy to be joining, and wearing these colours is very special to me," Lima told canaries.co.uk.

"I saw that [Gabriel] Sara has been amazing here, it's a club that uses a lot of young players so for me that's a big point.

"It's my first experience in football out of Brazil. Football in England is famous for being one of the best in the world, it's going to be a great experience and I hope I can do well here."

Sheffield United 'on brink of signing Villa forward Archer'

Sheffield United have reportedly agreed a fee for Aston Villa forward Cameron Archer.

Throughout the summer transfer window, it has been suggested that last season's Championship runners-up have one of the lowest budgets in the Premier League.

At one point, reports indicated that the Blades may have as little as £20m to strengthen their squad ahead of attempting to remain in the top flight.

However, helped by the sales of Sander Berge and Iliman Ndiaye, boss Paul Heckingbottom has been able to make as many as seven additions, just two of which have been loans or free transfers.

Cancelo 'snubs Saudi move in order to join Barcelona'

Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo has reportedly turned down the chance to make the move to the Saudi Pro League in favour of completing an initial loan switch to Barcelona.

The Portugal international spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich after a breakdown in his relationship with Citizens head coach Pep Guardiola.

Bayern turned down the chance to make the move permanent, which saw him return to the Etihad Stadium, but he is not in Man City's plans for the 2023-24 campaign.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with the right-back, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently said that the La Liga champions were in the driving seat for his signature.

PSG 'to increase Kolo Muani bid with striker pushing for move'

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to increase their offer for Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani, with the forward pushing to make the move to the French capital.

The Paris outfit's initial offer for the France international, said to be worth €60m (£51m) plus €10m (£8m) in bonuses, is believed to have been turned down.

According to L'Equipe, PSG remain determined to bring the 24-year-old to the club and are therefore preparing to approach Frankfurt with an increased bid.

The report claims that Kolo Muani is PSG's leading attacking target in the latter stages of the transfer window, although it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to meet Frankfurt's asking price, which is thought to be as much as €100m (£85.5m).

Transfer rumours: En-Nesyri to West Ham, Iheanacho to Palace, Castagne to Fulham

West Ham United are reportedly lining up a move for Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Morocco international has made an impressive start to the 2023-24 campaign for his Spanish club, finding the back of the net on two occasions in three appearances in all competitions.

The 26-year-old's future is currently the subject of much speculation, though, with Sevilla said to be willing to let him leave for the right price before the end of the transfer window.

According to The Sun, West Ham are lining up an offer for En-Nesyri, with Hammers boss David Moyes viewing him as an ideal replacement for Gianluca Scamacca.

Villa considering bid for Barcelona's Abde Ezzalzouli?

Aston Villa may reportedly join the race to secure a deal for Barcelona winger Abde Ezzalzouli.

Having acquired the services of Moussa Diaby earlier this summer, head coach Unai Emery appeared to be happy with his options in the final third.

However, Emiliano Buendia sustained a serious knee injury just days before the start of the new season, forcing the Spaniard to contemplate alternatives.

While Villa showcased their attacking prowess in a 4-0 victory over Everton last weekend, they are still in the market for a fresh face on the flank.

Ajax 'reject improved offer from West Ham for Kudus'

West Ham United have reportedly seen an improved bid for attacker Mohammed Kudus turned down by Ajax.

David Moyes is in the market for attacking reinforcements and Ghana international Kudus has emerged as one of his primary targets heading into the final 10 days of the summer transfer window.

Hammers technical director Tim Steidten allegedly made the trip to the Netherlands last week to hold discussions with Ajax chiefs over a big-money move for the 23-year-old.

However, the Europa Conference League winners are said to have failed with an opening offer for Kudus as it fell well below Ajax's asking price.

Roma 'ready to consider loan bid for Lukaku'

Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku has reportedly emerged as a potential loan target for Roma.

Despite being back at Stamford Bridge since the second week of July, the Blues are yet to attract a suitable proposal for the Belgium international.

Inter Milan had been interested before learning that their former key man and loanee was in discussions with rivals Juventus, an occurrence which saw the Champions League runners-up move away from the negotiating table.

Juventus are not in a position to sign Lukaku unless they cash in on Dusan Vlahovic, while the Chelsea man is yet to entertain a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Spurs 'set aside significant funds for Kane replacement'

Tottenham Hotspur have set aside significant funds to sign a new striker to replace Harry Kane, according to a report.

Spurs bid farewell to their all-time leading goalscorer Kane earlier this month when he completed a Bundesliga-record £100m transfer to Bayern Munich.

Kane scored on his Bundesliga debut in Bayern's 4-0 away win over Werder Bremen last Friday, but Tottenham have managed to cope without the England captain so far this season, scoring four goals and picking up four points from their opening two Premier League games against Brentford and Manchester United.

Tottenham are light in the centre-forward department, though, with Brazil international Richarlison – who is still waiting to score his first Premier League goal for Spurs – the only recognised frontman in Ange Postecoglou's first-team squad.

Man City to resurrect Lucas Paqueta deal in January?

Manchester City could reportedly reignite their interest in West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta during the January transfer window.

The Citizens have been strongly linked with the 25-year-old this month as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his squad with a new midfielder following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona.

Man City were allegedly close to reaching an agreement with West Ham to sign Paqueta for around £80m, with the player having already agreed personal terms over a move to the Etihad Stadium.

However, a recent report claims that the treble winners have decided to walk away from negotiations with the Hammers amid a FIFA and Football Association betting investigation into the Brazil international.

Fiorentina 'set deadline for Man Utd, Liverpool-linked Amrabat'

Fiorentina have reportedly told midfielder Sofyan Amrabat that he must decide whether he wishes to stay or leave the club by Friday, amid reported interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a departure from the Serie A club since starring as captain for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, playing a key role in their journey to the semi-finals.

Amrabat has made 107 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina since joining the club in 2020, including 49 outings last season in which La Viola were losing finalists in both the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League.

However, Amrabat has now entered the final year of his contract with the Italian club and a move to a top European team in the prime years of his career has been mooted.
