Sheffield Wednesday to sign Newcastle United duo?

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly in talks to bring in Newcastle United pair Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar.

Sheffield Wednesday are said to be on the verge of signing Newcastle United stars Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar on loan for the rest of the season.

Winger Aarons spent the first half of the season with Czech side Slovan Liberec but has since returned to the North-East, while left-sided midfielder Lazaar has been playing with Newcastle's Under-23 team.

According to The Chronicle, both players are in talks with Championship side Wednesday, although 27-year-old Lazaar's potential move is slightly more complicated due to his higher wages.

Steve Bruce spent his first day in charge of the Owls today and is hopeful of concluding a flurry of deals before the transfer window shuts tonight.

As well as the Newcastle pair, Bruce is said to be working on a deal to bring in Wolverhampton Wanderers' out-of-favour defender Dominic Iorfa.
