Report: Matt Ritchie seeking Newcastle United exit

By , Senior Reporter | 4d
Newcastle United midfielder Matt Ritchie will attempt to leave St James' Park in the summer, with a bid of around £10m likely to be enough to prise him away.

Matt Ritchie is reportedly eyeing a shock move away from Newcastle United at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has been in good form since being used in a makeshift wing-back position by Rafael Benitez, scoring a last-gasp goal against former club Bournemouth in his last appearance.

However, The Mirror suggests that Ritchie feels now is the right time to move on as he likely only has one more big pay packet in his career.

Newcastle are planning to offload a number of players in the summer, but the Scotland international is not one of those that will be forced out by Benitez.

Should an offer of around £10m be tabled, though, it is claimed that United will be happy to sanction Ritchie's move.
