Santiago Solari 'wants Juan Mata at Real Madrid'

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari is keen to bring Manchester United attacker Juan Mata to the Bernabeu, according to a report.

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari is reportedly keen to bring Manchester United attacker Juan Mata to the Bernabeu.

Mata will see his current deal with United expire at the end of the season, and the Spaniard will therefore be able to open contact talks with foreign clubs next month.

According to El Gol Digital, Solari is a firm admirer of Mata's talents, and the European champions could look to bring the versatile attacker back to Spain on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Mata spent time with Real Madrid during his youth career, and played 39 times for Real Madrid Castilla before moving to Valencia in 2007.

The attacker then spent three years at Chelsea ahead of a switch to United in January 2014, and he has scored 43 times in 202 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

This term, the 30-year-old has scored four times and registered two assists in 16 appearances for United.
