Manchester United have reportedly sounded out a move for Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak as they fear David de Gea will quit for Real Madrid.

De Gea is a long-time target for Los Blancos, who failed with a deadline-day transfer two years ago and have been looking to sign him ever since.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho remains confident that the Spaniard will still be at Old Trafford come the start of next season, but plans are said to be in place should he ask for a move away.

According to The Mirror, Atletico stopper Oblak is the figure United want and they are confident a deal can be struck, with the Slovenia international keen on making the switch.

It is claimed that victory for United in next week's Europa League final, and thus a place in the Champions League for 2017-18, could be enough to persuade their number one to stay.

De Gea is valued at £60m by the Premier League club - a world-record figure for a goalkeeper.
