Report: Manchester United preparing £43m bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele

:Headline: Report: Manchester United preparing £43m bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele:
Lyon striker Moussa Dembele emerges as a rumoured winter transfer target for Manchester United, who are believed to be in the market for a new striker this month.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a £43m bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele to compensate for the loss of Marcus Rashford.

The Red Devils could be without top scorer Rashford for up to three months due to a stress fracture sustained in the FA Cup win against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be searching the market for a goalscorer and, according to FootMercato, Dembele has been identified as a possible candidate to fill the void.

The report indicates that United had already been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old with the view to making a move further down the line, but those plans may have been brought forward.

Dembele scored freely for Celtic and Fulham during his previous spell in British football before heading to Lyon, where he has struck 26 times in 52 Ligue 1 matches.

However, it is suggested that Les Gones will demand more money for the striker, who has yet to be capped by France at senior level. body check tags ::
